Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Broken spirits

We live in sad times. I see people walking around like the walking dead. We all are just counting the days for this year to come to an end. Some have resumes out, some have them lined up and ready, some are waiting for things to change, some are hoping things will change, this is what uncertainty does to the spirit. We don't know if there is another furlough or more layoffs by the end of the year, but I do know that the fabric and foundation of Honeywell will never be the same. I personally was motivated and driven to give it my all - it is just the kind of person I am. Now I am just planning my exit. It is sad to give a company all your effort, sacrifice time with your family with no additional pay, get phone calls at night and on the weekend, stretch to the finish line so we can ship those units at the end of the years. I was exited for our customers and the missions we supported. It is a shame that this is the route Honeywell took. I feel Honeywell would prostitute their employees after hours if they could just maximize their quarterly revenue and EPS. I was once proud to work for Honeywell, but I think I am now ready to go design baby clothes.

Wow seems it is through out all Honeywell that people are sad how company is ruining divisions. Honeywell bought our company back in 2006/07 which now been around over 100year but sure making it feel bad to work for it taking our medical and such away

I like working for my 100 year old company been with it for 32 years now thought can retire from it but ways its going maybe not?? SAD.

Wish they would sell us to a better company that will treat us better but that's in all our dreams.

Where is the spreadsheet that counts the lost productivity of most of us looking for jobs and reading and posting to this site? EVERYONE I know across multiple HBT and SPS locations, and apparently Aero from this site has already quit in their own heads, and is simply going through the motions while trying to find something else.

It is truly a very sad situation.

Glad I was out 2 years ago with my dignity still intact. Fighting against dead wall was a routine task. Mandatory overtime with no additional merit gain. Tutoring your replacement to be must be on your weekly schedule.

I've been in for 8 years. I came in when times were hard during the 2009 ressession. After seeing growth year over year, stock soaring from $23.50 to $108.28, checkered merit increases at 2.75% every other year, and a promising outlook at late as 2014, I thought things were looking OK. It seems that is not the case. Furloughs every quarter, decline in medical benefits, 401K match, penssion, telecommuting prevlidges, dental. How much money is Honeywell really saving and where are those saving going? Are they using us to maximize revenue? Greed. Nothing but Greed. My take home pay has gone down, that mandatory 46 hours per week means I now work 7 weeks of free overtime. I am technically subsidizing my own bendifts and then Honeywell is charging the government premium for all that extra time they are mandating. There is something unethical going on here, possibly illegal. Maybe it is time to move on as well.

Sad state of affairs - a once great company spiraling out of control. Sad people can no longer come to work and feel proud of it. Remember fondly the days of team shirts, jackets when we won a big contract, retirement parties for those lucky people, company picnics, turkeys at Thanksgiving, a thank you at year end even in bad times and a we can do it additude throughout the company. Unfortunately I believe we have seen the best of times and it will only get worse.

It is a sad state of affairs. Not only for Honeywell but their greed is affecting the customers and non Honeywell companies / vendors who have supported HW all these years and purchased their products.

Agreed. I'm right there with you. I gave this company 10 hard working years but now when I drive into the office everyday, all I can think about is leaving. I have trouble focussing and my mind wanders to the job websites again. I already took all my personal belongings home to make for a quick and easy exit, either by my choice or theirs but one thing is for sure, aero is in a death spiral and I am leaving.

I do know of what you speak. Fortunately I was in a position that helped employees and felt so rewarded for the most part. I was able to get to know the vast majority of employees both in production and production support. I was always of the mindset that I was responsible for my job and to keep my mind on doing the best job I could. Since I absolutely had to work, I tried to not focus on the negative things going on in the work environment. I agree that Honeywell leadership at the highest levels has little regard for it's hardworking employees. Greed is a pervasive behavior that has and is affecting our country and it can be seen in our current election process. All are affected by greed but it can't be more blatant that what is seen with Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Global Initiative.

This too will pass. Sad as it is, we have to feed our families at when it's all over, if we're successful doing that, who cares.

I feel the same way, but what makes it even worse is when you actually care about the job and no one else does. I happen to think that what I do is important to our country ( I work on defense projects), and I want to do a good job, but everyone that I interact with is so disgusted with Honeywell that they don't even try to do their jobs. I understand how they feel, and to some degree I feel the same way, but it makes it impossible for me to do a good job. We're spiraling in for the crash.
