So the norm will be getting paid for 11 months work while supporting 12 months of work. Pay for your own Dental insurance now. Feels like they will just keep squeezing until all the "Old timers" are gone. Also heard there will be another RIF in Jan. 2017

I hope that rumor is True! I've put in for it 3 times,it's my turn!!!!
True!
So,how true is that rumor about people who volunteered and didn't get it,getting it in Jan?
Wow, so many unhappy people! I thought the goal is to be happy in life. If you are not happy, why don't you do something about it? I bet because you don't want to come out of our comfort zone. Everyone is claiming that they are working hard and I believe it. But working hard in comfort zone does not produce happiness, it only produces short term pleasure. Trying to get out of the comfort zone means changing yourself and that most people will not do. So if you are not willing to change, I suggest buy a jar of Vaseline so it will hurt less. Because going to different job is not the solution when all corporate are going in the same direction. I like what CEO of Alibaba said: "Work from 8-5 for someone else goal; but work from 6-10 for your goal"!
Yep! The goal is to offshore as many jobs as possible while replacing the US employees with cheap, throwaway temp contractors. They make less per hour and have no benefits. Dave expects those remaining employees to train these people. If you were smart, you'd tell the company to get fvcked.
The word on the street is the people that requested to be RIF'd the last time and were not accepted will be RIF'd in January. I think the replacement workers will come through Temp companies like KBR. Torrance has 12 contract buyers on site now.
I'll take a week furlough. At least I can be at home and look for a new job. These bunch of fixing halfwits that call themselves a leadership team are just a bunch of cun1s.
Since last November;
Furlough,
Pension change,
RIF
Furlough
RIF
Furlough
Dental
Remote Working
Probably Furlough in December (under discussion)
Probably another RIF to selected positions in some areas (I've heard about a few people that will be losing their jobs)
I am a recent new hire and there's too much writing on the wall encouraging me to leave. Can't wait til I get my new offer.
Been hearing the same thing, 2 weeks furlough and possible RIF in Jan 17. Also something in regards to additional furloughs like they have been doing through next year or 10% paycut across the board next year. Definitely tough times, just have to keep your head down and do your job, the rest is out of our control. You can choose to rough it out through next year or start looking and find something else. 2018 things should start getting better but doesn't hurt to keep an eye on jobs that are out there and put in for some, you have to look out for yourself.
from loose people with loose lips
I have no doubts that HON would happily furlough us the rest of the year if they so desired, but out of curiosity, where are these furlough dates and info coming from?
I can see 1 week in Dec and 1 week in Jan. we all know how historically slow it is January. When we were doing all the Kaizen events last year we can now see all NVA process steps are now targets for RIF. I think we will see many of the ISC functional groups get outsourced to companies like KBR.
are they deciding furlough in cafeteria and RIF i company's FREE dinner with DRINKS??????????
We have two young people in there early thirties who have recently quit Honeywell, squeeze out the old timers! Ha! The young people have more to loose if they stay.
Well I just hope I get the boot this time! Time to leave the ship!!!
There will be 2 weeks of furlough. Either 2 in december or 1 in december and 1 in January. The rif is also confirmed for Q1. So, merry Christmas everyone! 2017 is going tp be furloughs, RIFs and more benefit erosion.
