Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

So how do we show displeasure about this?

This board isn't large enough to reach criticle masses. I'd like to see the hard working Hon employee Take an action that impacts ALT for once.

Call in sick, get a union to stand out front and hand out info cards, start a work flow down and to hell with schedules? After all they don't need us 52 weeks a year.

Cote is a dictator that hates Arizoner, well Cote we hate Jersey and Chiner. All your missing is a little mustache you A$$. And yes I'm doing this on company time, an iPhone you're paying for and the fun part it's only going to get worse, much worseThrow some ideas around and see if we can get organized enough to show all these asses how much they need us and our experience.

I cancelled my HIPAC contribution 5 minutes after the second furlough was announced. I'd ask what are they doing for you the little man? Nothing! A corporation the size of Hon should fund their own deeds in Washington

Vice Presidents, directors, managers, individual contributors- stop your contributions to HIPAC - won't do anything for your career anyway

Did I hear someone mention unions? I'm sure Dave has already contacted " the Bobs" his anti-Union parrots. They will be arriving soon to a site near you. You will be forced to listen to these knuckleheads spew their anti-Union drivel. The only plus is they will be flying in the baggage section because Mikey can't afford to pay coach. With any luck they will get lost with the luggage.

Exactly. There's no value in being a block 1. Might as well be a block 5; the raise is the same= $0. Everyone is getting laid off anyway.

Please where do you work, look around a bit, how difficult is to justify block 1? What is the difference between block 1 and 5? What about when you get promoted? Block 1 got you promotion but now, in your new position, you are block 5, since technically, you have not mastered your new role. Some people are good politicians, that's how. Hard working people that are not interested in promoting themselves on a daily basis and kissing management a$$e$ suffer.

How do you game the system exactly? Block 1 ratings have to be justified to the director and HR. If you know of a way to cheat, please enlighten us.

I've been told start talking up all the movement of Hon sites going on. Supposed to be a big secret but seems like they delays get out.

To block 1 bragger, I guess you figured out how to game the system.

It's not easy, let me tell you. But now I see all that effort was all a big waste. No raises, no job security, no work/life balance, only furloughs and RIFs. Ok Tim, I get it; you want us all to leave. Message received loud and clear.

@JKOf515-xab, I wouldn't brag about being in block 1 as, in reality, it means nothing. We all know that 9 block system does not work.

If you want to get the execs really nervous just start talking about unions. I promise you it will get their attention. You don't have to actually be actively trying to unionize, just using the word will send leadership all the way up to Tim him self scrambling to "engage employees" at your site

Not sure how you stay in block 1 for 7 cycles. I got up there and then improved my results and efforts far beyond what I did the previous year and asked how I ended back up in block 5. Manager says the same thing every time. It's someone else's turn. Results and behaviours don't matter. Only if it's your turn. I guess the managers are trying to be fair within a ridiculously flawed system.

I wish they'd put me on a PIP then at the end of the period, I'd get my 26 weeks and I'd be out if here.

It's not worth the effort to try and educate morons. The most effective thing you can do is leave. I've been a block 1 for 7 cycles now. Let all the people on PIPs and the block 5s stay behind to get all the work done while all the valuable block 1s and 2s leave for better opportunities.

I don't like all the generic "just quit" responses. What's wrong with trying to improve your situation rather than walking away from it? Although the easiest conclusion to draw from the state of affairs here right now is the management is intentionally trying to tank the company to sell it off or maybe Dave and Tim are just artificially padding the numbers to add a few karats to their golden parachutes, but it's also possthat they are just extremely out of touch with the everyday worker. Maybe they are so terrible at their jobs that they don't know any better. So yes we should try to educate them. If nothing else I really think their medical insurance practices are well within law suit territory.

Take personal time to go to the doctor and don't make it up. If they're going back to the 1980s as far as policy, then I want official sick time and I am not working when sick, Also this is a rabid anti-diversity move (hits parents and esp women more IMHO) and I plan to expose it in all my professional groups.

Politically I'm pretty anti-union, but I'm all ready to change my tune. I asked an old timer here and he said he's seen 3 failed engineering union attempts in his tenure. I agree I'd love to see something done or join myself to a cause to push back but not sure where to start. We should document all the ridiculous garbage that is flowing down and talk to the media. The problem isn't just dealing with the corporate world's worst management, it's all the awards and praise they get for doing it. We are constantly on lists of Forbes most sought after employers or LinkedIn's best company to work for, etc. I wish we could expose Honeywell for what it is and start dialogue going on how all those metrics and awards have zero reflection on what the actual employees feel.
