Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Those severed. Did you also suffer no pay for the furlough week? I did and I'm calling to complain to anyone that I was not on furlough.

This POS company takes the cake. Lay you off and then expects you to take part in their money saving scheme while you are on severance pay.

I understand that we received payment in advance for the furlough week, but they still owe us for hours worked Monday and Tuesday of the layoff.

Paycheck recently received was for only 40 hours (40 hours had been subtracted for the furlough in error). Called today and payroll said this was a mistake. Since my severance paperwork was turned in on time, there should have been no disruption in pay and no 40 hour deduction for the furlough week. They are submitting request for the 40 hours pay to be deposited by this Friday. Had I not called, however, I wonder if this error would have been remedied or somehow just overlooked. Pay close attention to the date ranges for the pay you receive to make sure the pay is accurate.

To Buford the spouter: I received a pay statement in the mail today for the bank deposit made this week. As I expected, it was for the first week of severance pay (week beginning September 19). AThe last week of pay (the week laid off) was paid in a 2nd deposit on September 16 along with my vacation balance.

You were saying, Buford?

Take a closer look at the statement for the 2nd check you got on the 16th. If you don't have your statement, you'll have to ask for it and wait for them to mail it to you.

As a RIF volunteer, I was still active on the 16th and downloaded my statement for the 2nd check on that day. It shows that I was paid for working the week of the RIF and my vacation balance also. I've asked for the pay statement for the pay deposit made today.

Ok - I just confirmed the pay breakdown with One Stop:

The second check/deposit received on 9/16 was for unused vacation PLUS the last week of employment (9/12-9/16).

Today's pay was for the first week of severance (9/19-9/23).

The next check on 10/14 should go back to two weeks' worth of pay and continue like that until the severance period ends.

Hope that helps clarify. Receiving stubs will definitely help and I think they should be automatically mailed/emailed rather than waiting to be requested.

I'm confused about the pay details. My paycheck received on 9/16 (also my last official employment date after 9/13 RIF) was the typical amount and covered the previous two weeks of work (8/29-9/9). I also received a second deposit on 9/16 that was strictly my vacation payout, as was expected per my exit conversation with HR.

I expected today's deposit to be 2 weeks' worth - one week of pay for my last week of work (9/12-9/16) AND the first week of severance (9/19-9/23). Instead it appears to be one week's worth of pay - more than the last paycheck received after a furlough period but I imagine that's because at least some of my typical deductions have stopped.

I have requested to have all these pay stubs mailed to me so I can figure out deductions/tax rate etc. but haven't received them yet. I think the evidence suggests that RIF'd employees were NOT paid the furlough week as the original poster suggested. That is a real bummer. :)

Yet more spouting off, your accusation of me being a Honeywell shill. You obviously didn't read my detailed answer, it would show that I'm not.

You must be in conflict all the time in your life. When something happens that you don't understand, rather than trying to get the facts so you can understand the issue, you toss out accusations without foundation.

To jk-akm. If you think me getting shorted one weeks pay is 'spouting' off then you are a Honeywell shill. Thank you for sharing though.

On the 16th, I received both my regular paycheck for the pay period ending the 11th, and a second paycheck which covered the period ending last Sunday, the 25th. The second check paid for the last week I worked and also included a settlement of my vacation balance.

Today I received an email from my bank notifying me of a deposit, which is less than the amount I'd expect for 2 weeks. I suspect that it pays me for the first week of severance which is also the 2nd week of the pay period ending last Sunday, and the first week was covered in the extra check sent two weeks ago.

I want to verify that by looking at my pay statement. Since my online employee access was cutoff 2 weeks ago, I called One Stop and asked to see a statement. The polite lady there checked to see if one had been mailed; it had not so she is starting up having statements sent to me via snail mail.

You should get your statements and review them before spouting off with accusations.
