Thread regarding Noble Energy Inc. layoffs

Mid-November Rain

So if true and the layoffs do happen in mid November, then consider this yet another stupid decision by management. The email and communication is appreciated. But why wait so long to drop the ax? Now we will have people stressing out, gossiping, stabbing each other in the back, etc instead of getting work done.

They should do the smart and right thing by their employees and have the layoffs as son as possible in October. Surely they already have names....the week of the 10th would be the humane thing to do.

The best (read worst) part of this announcement is that Noble was just running adds to hire more people. How on earth can a company be so poorly run?!

I'm sure many people will appreciate the extra paycheck before they leave.

Who said they were trying to make money for the investors? Stover, Cunningham and the rest are working for themselves.

First Comment is right. Sad state of affairs. Bad top management promoting buddies and surrounded b "yes" people with little or no real talent or work ethic. Entitlement hires are abundant. Lawyers protecting lawyers. Engineers protecting engineers. Engineers running land. Stupid mistake but all the rage here. No engineer knows land or how to hire. All in all, the whole company and purchases are a huge mess. No one ever makes money for investors this way.

Since when has Noble senior management done anything smart. They were blinded by Susan's GAP mumbo jumbo and decided all they had to do was Believe they were going to find oil and gas.

Since when has Noble senior management done anything right when it comes to employees?

Troll emails, monitor the turnstiles to see when employees come and go, marginalize anyone who did not share the GAP vision. Noble will go by the way of Enron, once a good company but driven to chapter 11 by inept and greedy egomaniacs
