Contact the IG (DoDIG.mil) - Report Culture of Fraud in Honeywell

Oh - I just filed a complaint with the IG about Honeywell forcing employees to overcharge the government by demanding 4 additional hours a week from all engineers. Yes - that is fraud! When you are punished for charging general allowable and praiced for charging direct customer while demanding mandatory additional time that might or might not be nessesery - that is fraud. When you layoff employees for not committing fraud - that is criminal. Your move!

The yearly mandatory training is only to prepare people on how to pass the audit. We all know there are two sets of guidance - the legal one and the ones that makes Honeywell a little more money for the stock holders. It's all about Earning per share at any cost. That is the Honeywell culture - short term gains at any cost. We do the same in PR - the push us hard on yield and EEI.

I have been couched multiple times by my manger on the use of general allowable. Often times he pushed me to charge the program for administrative task not related to program since using the general allowable number counts against his yield. I tried pushing back, but then he said I was being difficult and placed me on a PIP for not delivering results. I have since changed my habits and he is now please that I have made progresses. Have been here for a little under 4 years just holding on long enough to maximize my resume. Once I leave I'll share my info with the IG.

Very odd. We have it BEATEN INTO OUR HEADS IN YEARLY MANDATORY TRAINING SESSIONS that thou shall not mischarge time lest ye be fired! Don't they get that training too?

I have an email from my manager stating that his manage (Sr. Manager S. A.) has to approve the use of what we call General Allowable charges ahead of time. I saved it because I could tell how unethical this was. They intimidated us into charging program numbers for work that was not related to programs. If this is not fraud, then what is it? I agree - the US goverment needs to look into this form of intimidation. I no longer work there but I saved those emails and still have them. I will gladly share with the IG. This occurred in ETS Clearwater. My manager is no longer there, he was walked out, but the Sr. Manager S. A. is still there. I am sure the IG will love to talk to her.

Because mangers are telling employees to log in from home, check email, open a file, etc... just to make the additional time count. We are not doing any work. We are not adding any value. We are just playing with the rules so we charge the extra time. Oh - and we have been told to do work that is not chargeable to the government in 15 minute increments. We are allow to charge non government tasks that rollover as long as they are under 15 minutes. I was told to take my training in 15 minute chunks and charge the government for those two 15 minute chunks. That is the Honeywell way. I still work there and was audited just recently - I passed with flying colors. Why - because we are trained to answer those 30 some questions. Yes - it is fraud. I know it. Honeywell knows it. Our managers know it. Any hours we work over 40 are pure Honeywell profit. They will do anything to maximize profit at any cost. We even ship products knowing they are defective just to get paid. I was told - we'll recall them once we ship them since it is a different pot of money. The joke among engineers is - ship it.

How is it fraud upon the government if the engineers actually work the additional 4 hours being charged to the government?

The DoD and the rest of the bunch in government are as corrupt as Honeywell is. Nothing will change. All the good people at Honeywell should just move and leave this company to go into the scrap pile of failed corporations.
