Work From Home Surveys?

Does anyone on here have any inside knowledge on what the data being gathered regarding employees and their work from home schedules will be used for? I am afraid I know the answer.

Not all rumors are true, especially the one about Sarasota.

Yes Cote visited a Florida site on a Friday and found many cubes empty. When asked "where is everyone" the reply was "working remote". I guess he hit the ceiling.

The Aero leadership team is asking how can we be an engineering Co. and have everyone at home and not supporting the floor PLUS have space paid for costing millions with no one in the seats. The survey wants to find out how many people are really remote with HR sign off. The thinking is to downsize many locations, herd them into other bldgs and give back leases thus saving millions.

Hang on, it could get bumpy.

They want to know how many people are working from home and the intent is to reduce the amount of people who work from home. The main reason for doing so is to entice employees to leave the company. The more people who leave voluntarily means less RIF packages need to be paid. Why fire people when you can get them to leave on their own? It's the perfect crime; work people to death while reducing their pay and benefits each year until they either die or quit. In either case, the employees lose and dave wins.

For sure... Did you see the new "Acceptable Use of Honeywell Resources" prompt when you log on. You must accept to log on. Seen this about 13 years ago... Word to the wise. Don't visit any websites outside the Honeywell network including the mundane.... Like banking, yahoo, MSN

Many do abuse it, but almost all meetings are now on Skype or Lync. So they want everyone to come in just in case? ISC purchasing group will get hit "haaaaard" across Aero. The thinking is that many vendors will be forced to go on VMI-Vendor Managed inventory, so no buyers are req'd. A very senior Phx buyer quit/retired this week with no notice. He was buried with gov't type quotes and compliance pkgs. For someone to quit with 30+ years and potentially pass on 26 weeks pay, he must have been at the end of his rope. Time after time they are not accepting retirement age people for voluntary RIF, just overload them with work until the quit or die. Either one is ok with Honeywell.

Rumor is, Cote went to Sarasota and discovered only a small percentage of people there, many were working from home. Not a good scene.

Heard that they want to have "everybody" back to the cubicles because of productivity concerns.
