The layoff is running about 3 weeks behind schedule and continues to slip on a week by week basis. Affected names were due into Legal on 7/28 but the draft list was not ready as of 8/16. Apparently the cumbersome organization is hindering progress despite Cote's comment that the organization's efficiency is the impetus for the layoff.
Additionally, the layoff is being driven by Directors and select Sr. Technical Managers because it affects lower management and individual contributor positions. Ironically, they are now struggling and suffering with the organizational barriers and walls that they set up with this functional organization that, until now, they have been isolated from. Will they learn and correct the organization inefficiencies or will they continue to blame and punish the individual contributors?...I know what my guess is.
