Are there going to be more layoffs in ABU this year or is it finished for 2016?

Let's be clear. NO department is safe. They will tell always tel you that "this" was the last round of layoffs and we should all get back to business as usual - and focus on the cvx way - the align and inspire blah blah blah and carry on - until until until- ah ha you guessed it - the next round of layoffs. No one wants a demoralised work force walking around that is why EVERY round is always the last round until the next round of course. Having said that - yes asset development should have every reason to be worried the writing is on the wall - NO DRILLING for atleast two years. Now for a wider commentary. Yes - there is a round planned for September. BCG is already getting it's teeth into the org structure. They will be presenting to Nigel in August with organisational efficiencies achievable through combining teams as well as offshoring opportunities - the support functions like IT, SCM, bloated ones like HES and PGPA will be worst hit. Hardcore ops are perhaps the safest at the moment because of the c--- ups we have seen with T1 start up. San Ramon has put the ABU management on notice for the failures with T1 and that the second shut down is proving to be more than minor. The feeling is that the plant is going to continue having problems with a "SHUTDOWN" of some sort expected after every shipment. This obviously does not bode well for the business. and will mean significant shake up. Watch the share price a crash a the shut down and delays become an anchor feature of the ABU. All the best guys. Hard times ahead.

All I know, is like with most plants, you shouldn't over-water it and it should receive enough sunlight each day for to thrive well. I killed a plant once for leaving it alone for too long without proper care.

Asset developmet we were told no more cuts in 2016. Other teams will get hit but luckily we have survived for this year.

Nigel is much more aligned with personalities than results. I have worked with him at two separate locations. Tell him what he wants to hear. Don't rock the boat. He is not a bad guy but he won't stick up for the work horses. He demands total loyalty from his direct staff.....what I mean by that is he does not want to discuss his decisions. In fact they are edicts. The reorg at ABU will be interesting.

All current plans not based on BCG input.

They will work with Hearne to give him his 30% kicker. Going to be fun starting up the next 5 trains on a shoestring given how well t1 start up has gone....
