Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Chevron need to update

Chevron is 20 years behind in its managment style .Processes and procedures from thd oil patch in 1978. You cannot keep laying people off if we as a company cannot change. All the human energy clap trap keeps going but no real change. We keep failing to manage MCPs but the same people keep getting gigs. IF PRC is given TCO elxpansion then same old sh-- sandwhich. These long term chevron managers who have no other exposure to other oil majors should be watched as they will do the same thing again and again. Working on 1 successful MCP is better experience than working on say Angola, bigfoot, gorgon wheastone and soon to be TCO

EVOLVE or die Chevron your a good company but fail to learn from your mistakes at every turn and every level

GOM was one of the only BU's that made a decent profit for many many years and had one of the best safety records. What's the opinion that you are referring to, -lwz, the millennial constituency?

Chevron will go out of business because the management simply does not address problems. They sweep things under the rug, just hoping to ride it out till their next promotion. The company will fail and it's a shame because it's almost totally self-inflicted.

It's good to see a consistent opinion of Chevron coming out on these boards, especially about GOM. Remember, despite the companies fatality rate, Chevroids beat the drum of how outstanding they are as a company. They'd refer to them as deadwood. Compassionate, eh?

Chevron invested in Gorgon and Wheatstone assuming oil price will be $100/bbl. That is why the company is in deep sh--. There will be more layoffs just to keep company afloat.

I agree. I see the same in DWEP. The problem is that our drilling general manager works through imitation and bullying and has these same personalities working directly under him. It reminds one of the story of the King Who Has No Clothes. This is insane for it stifles leadership growth. The ship is nor about the team but his own ass

It doesn't matter...who are you going to tell? The same incompetent folks f--- up one project, only to be promoted and moved to another. I spent 3 years in China and watched the biggest cluster f--- of my career unveil; right in front of my eyes...absolutely no concern whatsoever with the incompetent f---ers who were responsible for that sh--hole of a project. All got promoted long before project completion, or soon after. Many are now in important roles on the TCO project, I expect nothing but utter failure them. MCP/PRC, ain't nothing going to change.

You cannot change untill you have the balls to say this sh-- dosent work for us! But to many have coasted along for so long that to rock the boat in the current climate of laying every f---er off is not wise
