I agree that the target is older workers My old boss had to get permission to keep laying off the oldest people in our department. I was kicked to the curb one year ago. I feel sorry for the next one in line. Not thst many over 40 were left when I got the boot.

400 laid off with a target of 5000 is what I hear. Only clear thing I can say is the they are targeting seniors and people with over 19 years. I have seen manager and the hard workers being targeted. I predict because they are cutting across the board they will have a major incident soon.
Can you say shoot yourself in the foot?
One of the worst corporations I have worked for in my 30 year career. Upper management consider themselves “elite” and have no time to help newer employees even in management learn to succeed. Would rather watch them flounder around and then lay them off.
They never say publicly who was laid off. It’s “bad for morale”.
Where would I find a list of names of those laid off? I’m one of them now (1/14/19) but want to check on my coworkers. I’m shocked but feel bad for those left behind. Too much work & not enough senior skilled workers to get it done. And Pune isn’t skilled enough to help that much. Sad. Way to go Charlie!
Yes. They are targeting seniors and people with 19 and above years
I understand the date is Jan 14th with some senior people already notified they won't have a spot.
Several thousand employees were "displaced" from BNY Mellon on Monday (01-22-18). So much for that great corporate tax break helping workers.
Can you elaborate a bit more?
