Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Nigel Heard meeting BCG?

Hear the new MD of the ABU is currently meeting with BCG, presumably with a view to having them wave their wand over the ABU. Anyone's guess what that means in terms of who and when anyone will be affected.

@IlXS6yT-ixzo Thanks for the update on "Roy Boy" K. I take it that (aka lump sum) means he either left under EOI ... or at his PSG level, just opted for the Platinum Parachute. Only trouble is "nice guys" don't make a business run and I guess Gorgon and Wheatstone attest to that.

Previous MD landed where he could minimize taxes on his lump sum after quietly slipping out the side door of the Fortune 15 Corp he put on the ropes. Nice guy, though.

It's not working out well. Would you think that sending him there to replace M Myers would work magic? ABU's problems are across the board, not only at the top. The whole thing with Gorgon and Wheatstone is it went bad from the beginning. Don't expect one person to unravel this mess that has gone loose for far too long. Good luck to all to to Chevron. I only hope ABU is not the torpedo that sinks our ship.

So they sent Nigel to ABU to straighten out all the LNG screw ups, huh? How's that working out?

If Nigel wants to learn how to make significant cuts to turn around that fiasco in ABU, o suggest he call Tony "big balls" in GOM.

Look on the bright side, the more BCGers are living in comfort, unless they have hangovers, they will be in a better mood and less likely to make the hard calls that puts an end to CVX BS that also has a direct connect to layoffs.

Another way to look at it, their contract T&Cs have already been struck and nothing anybody can do about that by lamenting.

I'm out of the loop. Where did previous MD land?

BCG personnel is likely staying in Executive housing or at a lavish hotel. You can be assured Chevron is paying that tab too. They bill us the rent with a 15% markup, as customary.

I hope we put BCG in some corporate housing and charge them rent.

BCG is the only one with any kahoonas so they try to spoon feed the CVX managers and stiffen their spines.

I wish just one of our overpaid higher managers could earn their pay and handle this stuff on their own. I'm tired of clueless managers relying on the BCG dotheads to figure things out for them.

20% in ABU? Dream on. More like 40% if other BUs are anything to go on. BCG are ruthless but also realistic. They tore mcbu apart, they are not over staffed for the current and one year forward look. Any BU that has yet to experience BCG has a lot to worry about.

Just got back from AMBU. They are in denial.

I can agree with the previous posting. AMBU is the worst in CNAEP, in terms of being overstaffed. MCBU is second and tied with deep water.

BCG benchmarking shows CVX overstaffed by 15000 compared to most efficient in industry

Too bad CVX doesn't take the BCG advice. Otherwise this could ha e all been finished with by now.

All the people who mis managed Gorgon are just about gone, almost all

we are having to deal with it and will have to for 10 years
