Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Wonder if timing of RIF is some how tied to JDA buy-out.

Seems interesting that word spreads the RIF is pushed to September about the same time as the Blackstone Group is offering JDA Software a financing plan as an option to being taken over by Honeywell. Hmmmm the RIF brakes came on pretty quick.

The last major layoff was announced on November 19 with a December 9 deadline to volunteer (20-day gap). The majority of the layoff was executed on Jan 5, 27 days after the volunteer cutoff date. I wasn't aware that any layoffs in that round occurred as late as March.

This round of layoffs was announced on July 13 with a July 29 deadline to volunteer (16-day gap). July 29 + 27 days is August 25. A delay until mid September does not align with last winter's layoff.

However, I do expect this one will take longer. I was aware of selection activities within my COE before Xmas last year, but I don't think any of that is going on right now.

I've also heard mid Sept from the start, takes time for legal reviews. Maybe some PP&C here and there recently depending on location but the bulk of cuts will be mid to late Sept and will be big impact, AME, ISC, Engineering will be hit.

Not sure where the 15th date came from. I've heard mid Sept after a 45 day cool off period from taking volunteers from day 1. That aligns to how it was done earlier in the year. Pre Xmas announce, take volunteers. End of Feb or early March, do the layoffs.
