Well said. I was thinking the same thing: who wants to buy-out old technology that's fading away?

It would be a good time for UTX to consider buying Honeywell Aero.

Phx Engines? lol There's not much business left there, not like it used to be. With the exception of a few military engines (Predator, a few T55s a month, some F35 junk and 131 APU business courtesy of Boeing and Airbus) I don't know how they can keep the doors open much longer. The test facilities are in disrepair been neglected for years. Many buildings are vacant and for the most part abandoned. Roof leaks all over the place but thank god for the lack of rain in AZ. Not much promise for future development work; with the exception of redesigning previous engine models and calling them something different a lot of effort is spent redesigning engines to address existing issues and customer complaints. The commercial propulsion business is barely hanging on but with so many quality issues in recent years the TFE731 business is slowly fading away with most of the overhaul business already being performed by channel partners like Duncan and Std. Aero. to name a few. If I had to guess, Sky Harbor would go first if Sr. Dipshit Management is really serious about outsourcing. There are so many repair stations already capable of doing the work which has been recently demonstrated by the decision to sell the future overhaul business of the HTF7000 product line to Std. Aero. I can't see any major legitimate corporation wanting to buy the Hon Aero division not unless they are looking for some short term gain. The future is grim but hopefully I am wrong.
