Actually HON never wanted to be a large defense contractor and this impacted aero negatively. Defense requires large R&D groups. HON wants to stick to its old recipe, after market supplier, etc.... No R&D. Some defense companies have been getting large contracts, hiring lots of engineers: LMT, BAE, Harris, etc...
