Tan Leong Hooi will keep doing everything to protect his rice bowl . He has a long history of leading plant ceased operations but he still survived . Seagate Penang Plant A (1st plant) , Ipoh plant , Johor PCBA plant, China plant , latest Penang plant , next he will move to Korat and trive there......but all the employees affected by his action.....

Are you saying the baldie, the indian, the loudmouth, the smoker or the ex VP could have done anything differently to prevent this? They turned a deaf ear to all these as well.

I am not a fan of any of them but to push the sole responsibility of this mess onto the VP is hardly logical. Be bitter as much as you want. I'm just waiting for the package, as pathetic as it could possibly be (80%) then im leaving this place.

This is toxic.

Very simple. If not because of this VP, then stop the execution and resign in protest. He duly takes the instructions and conduct the execution. Who is willing to take home monthly salary for killing other people's job??

Or, take action to improve and show the world Penang is useful instead of just be a yes-man so that his own rice bowl is protected. Makes me question why you guys protecting him. Manager, director or VP himself in disguise? And if it is already open secret, why still hide the info and let the rumours keep flying? Hardly his fault?? Man up!

This is hardly his fault, guys. Be fair.

Those bigshots in the States have screwed up badly with their decisions and everyone below the 'O'fficers level are suffering because of it, our VP included.

This VP is so cursed. He is killing rice bowl wherever he went and now even considering low compensation package. How many of us need to destroy thousands of jobs to maintain our own? That's how he survive all along, shame what a shame. I hope karma is really a bitch and that we get to see how he suffers.

Is that 80 cents per month of service in USD or Ringgits? You guys should grab an H1B and just come to the US.

Not supposed to tell this...buy what the hell!! After Q417, Penang sliders may just be an R&D Center

...mass volume all transfer to Korat...we work on unstable products and prepro only..

If you are below 5 years of service , get off this impending train wreck. If more than 5 years, then wait for your gravy train. But heard that they may want to reduce the compensation package . Something like 0.80 for every 1 month . Special severance projects at this scale will impact the bottom line...something that bean counters detest. Going to milk all those engineers to their last drop.

all must align to VP's goal. Isn't that what iMAPs is for.

states very clearly to transfer slider volume to Korat by Q417

now what is left of Penang Seagate is now open to interpretation.

this VP has got a very good track record ...

just track his history of where he has been and what happened to those plants.
