Thread regarding Anthem Inc. layoffs

All the signs are showing that lay offs are going to occur. Higher up execs are jumping ship, associates are being asked to fill out career

profiles (assessing who is better at what), and accrued paid time off is being taken away from associates outside of California (anthem won't have to pay out accrued time once employee is laid off). If this doesn't reak of major lay offs I don't know what else does. corporate America sucks.

career profile is normal part of life within Anthem. Skill summary is something I know at least all IT teams are being asked to fill out. what do you know how to do? what languages? etc.

Can you elaborate on the skill summary? Is this in conjunction with the career profiles we were asked to fill out?

I have no idea why I was asked to put together skill summary for my team. I think it sounds fishy for sure. Have heard that a lot of projects were cancelled recently or "paused" till 2017. Rumor also has it that financials for Q2 are not looking good so maybe trying to boost earnings before reporting in July.

With Wayne leaving you gotta think something is up. My guess? Merger is not going through. Will be good for Cigna and free up capital plus they get a 1.8B $ payout. Anthem will suffer. Also we're losing money hard time thanks to Obamacare. Med expense ratio is pretty high and climbing higher.

Oh see I had understood it to mean that we are only allowed to carry over 5 days of PTO into the new year...I guess I should read that a little bit better...all I know is I started taking mine, and have more planned for the year, provided they keep us that long.

I agree there's a lot of change going on behind the scenes, the PTO policy changes were worrisome, especially the cap of payout at 5 days if you leave the company. I am hoping this is just to align ourselves with Cigna and nothing more. But the resume has been updated....
