Now that the first rounds of ejecting people with low stock or weak performance last year are nearing completion its time for round 2. If you have been offered a VSP you need to be looking for a job now. Collect your paycheck as long as you can but it will most likely be an ISP for you before the end of the year.
There are a whole host of parameters that they are using to cull the next round of heads. It all depends on how many take the VSP to dictate how they will cut next time. There are all sorts of tricks up their sleeves. They will use things like being stagnant at your pay grade for a number of years and all sorts of innocuous things that you won't be expecting as criteria to toss you out.
You should expect the ax to keep falling all year and into the next.
