I had lost faith in the company over the last year or two. I started to find my loyalty wavering before oil prices began to fall. My work ethic and pride in myself was the only thing that kept me coming in and doing the best I could until I found something else. My old team didn't get hit during the previous two layoffs, one other team member left right before I did and I know it hit the group hard because I knew the rest of the team would have to pick up the slack. My only hope is that if there is another layoff the rest of the team will be spared because they are now shorthanded. My loyalty isn't to a company, it is to the people I worked with.

I wish I had been given the option to stay. I miss the friends I made there, and the hard working colleagues. I miss a good paycheck and benefits. I don't miss those who falsify their time sheets on a regular basis....they are the ones who should have been made to leave. It doesn't matter if you have kids at home or not. Some were kept because they had made the decision to have two kids close together. Work....just work. Be a good example for your kids or get out of the company. Some were kept thru the layoff and they built a big new house in the middle of oil prices falling and layoffs. Those people were kept!?! I guess their supervisor was afraid to cut them because they knew the people were to stupid to get another job since they built a new home while others were sweating the cuts. Don't complain about it unless you will quit. There are some of us who were made to leave and we still need decent jobs.....
Sadly I feel the same the people I will miss is the only reason I stay. The Company the work it feels so pointless now ...
