It's true. Noble does most everything half-assed. Including layoffs. They have no clue how to manage a downturn. The management team has created such a negative work environment... Everyone I know would leave in a heartbeat if they could.

Good analogy. Plus let's not forget Kmart was bought by Sears...

That's true. The package sucks. Like everything else Noble does. Probably the worst severance package in the industry.

What would expect from the K-Mart of the petroleum industry.

Those who wanted to stay at the company are still there. The people who wanted to quit because they were smart enough to know that Noble is in bad shape or that they had better opportunities elsewhere are long gone, happy and got a sweet package.

Are we out of danger of layoffs ? With the wingnut Stover in control, I definitely don't think so

Bottom line is that you don't want to work here unless you have no other options. Most everyone working for this underachieving company are trying to get out... Find other jobs.

Cross your fingers that you are next to get laid off. It will be the best thing to ever happen to you!

Not out of danger. But, 2016 "people" goal should help. I still don't understand bloated headcount in Legal, HR, Finance, and IT. But, inventory drawdown is probably over. http://fuelfix.com/blog/2016/06/15/goldman-sachs-the-oil-rebound-remains-fragile/

Well they damn well better layoff some managers, vice presidents and HR in this one. If they don't let the ones go caused all the trouble in the first place by paying too much, borrowing too much, over estimating values and not screening applicants, I think that all the board and management should be tarred and feathered. Why can't the Board of Directors wake up and realize what a band of idiots they have running the company?

Getting cut from these losers will be the best thing that could happen to you. You just don't know it yet. Take the package and go forth!

No way

More are coming

Noble's next quarterly report will show more write downs of close to $400 million plus

I am praying I get the package this time

Moral is soo bad here now I am ready to go even if I don't have another job to go to.

Noble has become a living HELL!!!!

The only reason oil is around 50 is because of wildfires in Canada and oil facilities in Nigeria being sabotaged. Once these areas are back online in full, the reserves will fill and prices will drop and layoffs will happen.
