Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Hypothetical: Let's say appeal granted and they offer my job back. Next steps?

Let's say Intel realizes they are wrong (legally) and offer my job back. Intel's mistake will be putting me at a disadvantage as I return to my job, All my projects and ownership have most assuredly been given to others in my absence. I will be basically set up to failure for the coming year's review cycle. In addition, setting me up for possible retaliation from my manager and co-workers (hard to prove, but very likely.)

What should/could I ask for (monetarily, ISP equal bonus, etc...) from Intel to offset the position Intel has now placed me in with their illegal action even if I accept the job back?

HR verifies start-date and end-date only (not VSP/ISP/ERP ).

It looks like Intel uses the work number for employment verification. You can check your own report to see what it says. https://www.theworknumber.com/

The only THREE things HR can validate on that outside line to your future employers are (1) your start date (2) your end date and (3) whether you can be re-hired by Intel. If the answer to (3) is No, not able to be re-hired, that basically tells your new employer you were ISP'd for bad performance.

Agree with @rxd. HR can only validate that you worked there, your start & end date. That's it. For a future employer, they would not know if you are ISP, VSP or ERP.

@hpz- ever heard of an in between job? You can say that you are eligible for rehire regardless. There's no way a future employer will no one way or another.

@seo you people that are short sighted crack ME up. You don't appeal because you want your job back and want to retire at Intel 20 years from now. You appeal so that you can get a steady paycheck while you line something else up. That, and you can say that you're eligible for rehire at Intel when you interview for other companies (aka they won't group you in with the ISP's).

Don't bother coming back, the only thing an appeal does is validate you emotionaly they f---ed you over.

But as you noted everything is stacked against you are well positioned for IR, Lev 4/5 stock next year and you know what that means ( wink wink )

The thing you sould ask for is VSP and take that, thus you can get rehired again if you want to bail on the Titanic

Your projects would most likely be given back to you since the ones who got them are now overloaded.

Appeal but keep your options open. Keep sending out resumes, interviewing, getting offers... See which one is best for YOU.

you'll find yourself in a similar position and always worrying about your job year in and year out.. intel had already found you dispensible, so clawing your way back in really does no one any good, especially you.. only putting off the inevitable.. and that is moving on from Intel

You people who appeal really crack me up. Why would you want to return to a company that does not want you and is in disarray? Do you truly believe that this will be the last of the layoffs at Intel? The best thing you can do is move and find a job and leave the titanic.

You are wasting your time.

Invest it in finding a new & better job.

I'd say you won't be getting the ISP reversed unless its not possible to give project ownership to anyone else. In that case there is no worry since you are the only one that can perform a particular role.
