FURLOUGH IMPLEMENTATION

· All employees, except those employees identified as excluded from the furlough, will participate in the furlough week from 12 a.m. June 27 through 11:59 p.m. July 3, 2016.

· Individual employees who are included in the furlough but have been identified to work during the furlough week, will take their furlough the week from 12 a.m. June 20 through 11:59 p.m. June 26, 2016.

TIME RECORDING

Time recording remains per the current process.

Since employees will not be working on furlough days, employees are not permitted to submit an entry in to the time and attendance system on these days. There is no need to enter anything in to the time and attendance system for the furlough days.

EMPLOYEE ASSETS

· Employees are prohibited from performing any work during their unpaid furlough week. In order to ensure no work is performed, all employees are required to leave their Honeywell assets (cell phone, laptop, iPad, etc.) locked in a secure Honeywell location such as an office or a desk prior to departure preceding their unpaid furlough week.

· Remote employees who have a Honeywell office or workstation at a Honeywell facility will similarly be required to secure their Honeywell assets onsite at the facility. Remote employees who do not have a Honeywell office or work on-site at customers or suppliers will be required to find a safe place to secure your assets at your remote location.

· All employees in the United States and Puerto Rico will be required to certify that they did not perform any work and they did not utilize any Honeywell assets while on furlough. Following the furlough, you will receive an assignment via email from the Learning Hub to log on and complete the certification. You will be asked to complete the certification within 24 hours. Failure to do so will result in an escalation to your manager.

· Audits will be conducted to ensure that no work has been performed.

· This requirement includes securing Honeywell issued cell phones even if it is the phone you use for personal purposes. It will be necessary for employees to copy any personal information that they may need while out.

FURLOUGH GUIDELINES

The following serves as instructions for employees on furlough:

· DO NOT report for work during the furlough period. DO NOT use any work equipment including laptops, cell phones, iPad’s, etc.

· DO NOT conduct any work activity outside of your regular workplace. This includes work-related training, seminars, and personal/professional development workshops. DO NOT participate in any work-related telephone conversations or in-person meetings.

· DO NOT use Honeywell email (reading, writing, responding to emails from co-workers, supervisors, customers, vendors, etc.). DO NOT use the Honeywell intranet, either directly or via remote access other than for personal compensation and benefit purposes such as accessing paychecks, medical information etc.

· DO NOT TRAVEL for work-related activity during this period. DO NOT SCHEDULE travel that would occur during the furlough period, and cancel or re-schedule existing travel plans if they fall within the furlough period. If work-related travel is absolutely unavoidable, you must review that requirement with your supervisor and get AUTHORIZATION IN ADVANCE to reschedule your unpaid furlough week.

· If you are required to work as part of an urgent response to a business situation, you will be contacted. You should go into work or conduct work from a remote location ONLY if directly contacted and instructed to do so. This action requires Tier I approval. Should you be called in to work you will be paid.

Employees SHOULD NOT proactively share any information or discuss the furlough with any customers, suppliers or vendors.

I urge everyone to use their furloughs to update their resumes & seek employment elsewhere. Cote intends to make quarterly furloughs mandatory along with eliminating pay increases forever. Find a new job someplace where they value their employees. By the way, calculate how your actual hourly rate & your astronomical insurance deductible & factor those into your job search. Did you know there are LOTS of companies that only require their employees to work a normal 40 hour work week? Honeywell abuses its employees & it's NOT okay.

I think my favorite part of the message is that this is the only time you aren't allowed to do work. 80 hours of work? Memorial Day? Labor Day? No problem. But do NOT under any circumstances do work during this unpaid week.

Message to all stuck in The Four Red Walls: get out if you have the chance. Life isn't perfect but it can be better.

PS: Want the furloughs to end? Send Steve's message to United Airlines and Southwest.
