When will Gorgon and ALNG restart. CVX has missed all startup guidance to date. Layoffs are taking a deep toll on these critical startups. How big will the disaster be. Bypassing critical safety devices in a plant is disaster waiting to happen. Only companies like BP and CVX would take unnecessary risk with plant and employee lives to make a management imposed deadline. Australia safety regulator should investigate. Criminal behavior

It seems to me that Obama and Watson are working in tandem on the Master Plan... Obama to destroy the U.S. and Watson to destroy Chevron.
I am KBR at gorgon, we love watching this site. Train 1 and 2 going slow and over cost. All the good expat Chevron engineers laid off. I expect further delays and cost overruns. I heard ExxonMobil and Shell are getting management approval for more budget overruns. Restart of Train 1 while progressing Train 2 is challenging. Train 3 is spare parts for Train 1 and 2. Fixing Train 3 will cost a bunch. Reports to management in Perth and San Ramon are unrealistic. I am just a contractor nobody listens to us, since we are the experts. No one on the Chevron owners team have ever started an LNG plant. Only ExxoMobil and Shell Secondees have real LNG experience.
@HIZThSo-dukp, Maybe you are just part of the problem instead of part of the solution. Anyone can sit on their assand point out problems. We need people who can solve them. If you can't. Adios.
Agree with some of the msgs posted here, sadly. Competency & meritocracy is not rewarded here, asskissing and being yes-men/women will make you go further. If you ask hard questions people get very uncomfortable and label you as trouble-maker. Present environment is making this worse. It is not sustainable in the long run. Big projects like Gorgon will not make money in the short to medium term - LNG prices are at $5 internationally but was $8-$11 at the time of project sanction. Problems in Nigeria will not help either. Prepare for tougher quarterly results going forward and more down sizing. Sorry for such pessimistic view.

Xvp- bp comment refers to the safety culture that led to macondo and Texas City disaster. CVX Is following the same path as BP. Process safety is not the same thing as superficial safety (bbo, hard hats, glasses, hold the hand rails) . Process safety actually requires technical excellence. When you lay off LNG process engineers and keep the superficial safety enforcers, your plant may not run...or exposed to high risk consequences that only LNG process engineers can identify and manage. CVX is becoming BP. There will be a serious process related safety incident in CVX within 3 years. The culture is devolving. And people will die.
Do you think layoffs caused a horrendous and half baked PSSR? Open your eyes mate. Competencies have left Chevron and the culture has castrated any resemblance of leadership.
The layoffs will speed up the operation......a credible plan with OC that actually have experience and education in the field they practice......
I heard from a credible source that Chevron is getting out of the HUC/Start-up of projects due to the colossal failures of Gorgon and Big Foot. How credible? I guess time will tell but I am hearing this is happening by the end of 2016. All future HUC/Start-ups will be done by third party.
