I felt the same way after being let go in March after 14 years working in SLB IT support group. At the age of 55 I have no desire to go to work for another large corporation, much less the oilfield business. I'm just tired of the roller coaster ride. I'm taking my skills to the public and am excited about doing so. The severance is enough to give me some time to get my own business off the ground. I'm not sure what your skill set is, but I encourage you to follow the dream of running your own business if that is what you want. Good Luck to you.
