OP, I had thought the same thing 13 years ago but did not quite make it. I had 17 years left until 62 early retirement and came up 4 years short. Now I just have to get through these next 2 years until I am 60 to be able to take retirement without penalty. With my 1 year severance I should be able to make it OK.
So don't count on making the 15 years all the way to retirement.

Lol.....this is so true. I have done nothing in 1 year. I do slobber during my daily nap. I was told about a year ago, during a time that I had a small project, that I was churning out to many action items. This created accountability. So I got the talk......this is it in a nut shell......We love the last 7 years of work. We do ask that you slow down. It's not budget or time. But we are putting to much stress on our management.....we put this in a nice PMP write up and I do nothing. I get at work, check the book to see where I can put a few bucks to bet. I take a nap....oh then it's work out time at lunch. I take no longer than 2 hours. Come back to the office, shoot the sheat for 20 minutes.....home at 3-4 everyday. I love love love Chevron.
