I was rated successful with L5 stock for 2015. No warning and no criticism of my work last year at all. Never been given lower stock or rated less than successful. Am a grade 7 in a new job learning totally new technology after over a decade of Intel. Based on the leaked slides and screen shots I've seen, it's almost certain that I'll be unemployed at the end of next week. So F them. Here are some of the things I'm doing.
-
Scheduling my floating holiday now as this is not vacation. Accrued vacation and rolled over vacation (in CA at least) should be paid out.
-
Only doing the lightest work which those I care about need. If a coworker I care about will have to do it next month or get stung by it, I do that today or tomorrow. For that jackass project manager who's been pushing project X and being a d*ck about it, we'll you're outta luck. Or maybe you're gone too. :)
-
Scheduling a dentist appointment asap for work I've been putting off. My benefits are damn good right now. Cobra my suck.
-
I have stock options vested that are actually worth some good cash. Pulling the trigger as I cant be sure they'll let me do that once I get the official notice of ISP. And the stock is up since the market seems to like all this "efficiencies" and "transformation".

I've taken a hard copy of everything I need for my laptop. Personal pictures, video and music, resume, helpful documents, exported of my Outlook contacts, etc. Note that if you copy too many files of the wrong type too quickly, lost pretend protection software will kick in. This may prevent you from copying some things and may send an alert. Do it offline to make sure and run your external hard drive or USB drive out to your car when you're done.

Emptying my laptop backpack. Am not going to argue about what's mine and what's theirs. May only take my laptop in as I go to work the next few days, pretending I don't know.

Going in late and leaving early. Going to play some Xbox and crank some classic vinyl. Relax and do house projects a couple of weeks and then look for a new job. Am in a good position and confident about my options.
What are you doing to prepare?
Here's to Change and Transformation. Haha. Bullshit.
