Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

I want the VSP, should i tell my boss or do you think VSP candidates chosen already in the U.S.?

yes, but if they need more to leave a volunteer just MIGHT get accommodated.

OP - back to my earlier message.... it never hurts to ask. If you don't ask, it's an automatic no. Give yourself a 50/50 chance and ask if it's what you want. Good luck.

Not that I know anything.... but I think there is going to be some type of criteria to come up with the list. You might or might not be on it. However, I don't think it would hurt to ask/volunteer since they MIGHT be able to put you on the list if you weren't already on it.

My take? If you don't ask a question the answer is always no. Give yourself a shot/chance and at least see if you can get a yes by asking. It's what I did (informed my manager 2 yrs ago to let me know if there are any VSP whispers as I might be able to save someone else if I volunteer (if it worked out for me timingwise).

Black box lay offs are always fun. Why? Not only can you be shown the door, but your manager might be shown the door at the same time.
