Thread regarding Bechtel layoffs

Bechtel is basicly a huge body shop with some IP. European contractors in same situation. CLIENTS WANT LOWEST COST, PLUS GLOBAL VER LOW BIG PROJECTS and no growth. Many of the Chinese and Indian contractors like L&T are coming in at 50% below Bechtel bids. And they are good for many projects.

Write to Trump and ask how does a wall work when all the work is in Asia, Australia. We need answers not slogans. PS India PM is in USA, Trump needs to go meet him. PS India filed a free trade case against US they want free movement of Proffesionals. What will it be like in 25 years?

Ps if a 30 year old engineer does not run a major project by this time He/she will never advance. This is a long game

I work for an oil and gas owner company and I can tell you right this moment we are challenging suppliers and contractors to give the ABSOLUTE lowest cost; this means that companies like Bechtel have to send jobs offshore to be able to compete in this climate. If you can't compete then there is no work! It's terrible times.

Bechtel is offshoring the majority of the work to India. I am certain Bechtel will use the current downturn to significantly reduce the size of the Houston office. Proposals include 70% to 90% of Indian labor, what a joke!!! God bless the USA!

Layoff folks in Glendale - Hire folks in India

Bechtel is laying off employees in the US (Glendale AZ in particular has been hard hit) and sending those jobs to New Delhi.

So much for the much touted claim that Bechtel values their long term employees. New Delhi has plenty of job openings right now.

And meanwhile our US based office is wondering how many of us will get the ax this month. Disgusting.
