Should Paal show solidarity with his employees and lead by example with a self imposed pay cut?

That would show some real leadership qualities wouldn't it?

Yeah I don't give a hoot about my reports and as long as I make my bonus and they do what I tell them.

If the screw with me then they are out. That's the way we do it in SLB and that's why we are one number 1 kick as company

he should because employees may be more loyal towards him and the company. the lack of a corporate conscious and leadership in that company is morally repugnant

a bit too late for that, only after firing 1/3 of the workforce? The best thing to do is Paal to keep on firing, get the perf bonus, salary increases, new option grants, and keep share prices high - he and his family need it.
