Yes stupid, $15 is below the production cost. $55 is below the production cost for shale. And that is why ConocoPhillips is loosing $1 billion per month. Feel free to listen to one or more of the town halls or analysts meetings of the past when the upper management note the complete lack of a business plan for oil under $60 as the cost of production exceeds $60.
Every time I see someone say something about oil recovering soon, I wish I could reach through the internet and punch them in the face, because I'm a firm believer that stupid should hurt.
It definitely will not drop below $15. That's below the production cost. It's cheaper to leave it in the ground. I don't think oil can go below $22.
