Thread regarding Follett layoffs

More layoffs coming

Believe it or not but heard from a VP that store layoffs are coming and will not be pretty. Be prepared for another repeat of that black November day.

This is not a yearly thing, it is a three times a year thing. I worked there for a long time but I always knew there was a possibility that the next layoff could be mine. It happened to me last year.

I knew this would happen. Follett is notorious for layoffs. I knew as soon as Follett bought the Nebraska stores that many people would lose their jobs. I just hope people that don't get laid off get out asap. If you are not laid off--it is only a matter of time before your store is gutted down to very few hours to operate. The leader of the VP group for stores is a real jerk. But that is who Follett keeps on the payroll.

Does that mean management will throw a huge party for themselves (and prospects) at a final four site? They did that two years ago (although the November venue was a sunny and warm NorCal football game).

I can confirm what is stated above. I've heard the exact same thing from a high ranking person. Goal is everything clear by the end of the year. Expect the stores to get shitted on when it comes to severance. Corporate got decent severances to basically buy their silence.

New at Follett. Is this a once a year thing? How's this work with store managers?
