The biggest problem with Schlumberger is the managers never pay for consequences of poor decisions and lack of market relevant initiatives. Managers (at most levels and functions) are very internally focused. Technocrats thrive in Schlumberger as it has gotten so large.

Yes, several people I knew from SIS and Artificial Lift have been let go in the past week. All very hard workers. Sad times.
In Houston I know of 5. 3 in Wireline, 2 in SIS. I'm sure there are more I didn't know.
