The college new hires that started last January got their promotions to a new salary grade in January. What about us that weren't college recruits?! Must be nice to be the chosen ones. They all went to a new salary grade and we don't even get a tiny merit raise.

Pretty sure I did, unless that masters degree on my wall is a figment of my imagination. I also have 15plus years experience and lots of industry certifications. I just came to work here and started contributing on day one. That being said I have seen some really bright college new hires, one in particular is amazing. I would gladly give him more money. If they don't he will leave and the company will lose someone special.

The term is OCR, on campus recruit. Both OCR and non-OCR have advantages and disadvantages. The OCR moves from role to role every 6-12 months for three years without an opportunity to add value with a long term role. The non-OCR do not move from role to role every 6-12 months with an opportunity to add value with a long term role. The key for the non-OCR roles is the hiring manager and the level of competence in the hiring manager. If you can hitch your wagon to a competent manager please do.
They also get paid half of what you do. Even with a bump. You people are all so self absorbed. Backstabbers.
It's because they are training to take your job and cut your ass to the curb.
I say screw them, let them run the company and have all the experienced people leave. I guess they won't be able to go to the movies, bowling, dinner, to their field trips, and hey will have to miss coloring time when they are the only ones left.
