Most of the best are gone. Fired, layed off or retired early just to preserve their sanity. These are the people who made Smith NUMBER ONE. It seems the more valuable you are, the less they need you. Slum-Berger is doing a great job of driving this plant into the ground. When oil prices come back, and they will, there will be no fixing it. It's a damn shame.

Time for a union. Someone needs to get the ball rolling. 80% of the plant is ready ? Just ask around
F--- you Guiseppe. Try going 7 out of ten years no raise. the problem starts with 2 Italians and trickles down from there. Schlumberger doesn't know how to run anything unless it's to shit. 9 straight years #1 in the world . Can you guess the last year we received that? 2010 year b4 big blue took over? Think I might do a Q-stop tomorrow on how shitty our plant has been ran for the last 5 years..
I love my job here in Ponca. Yes it's stressful with oil prices they way they are, but I consider myself very lucky to still have a job.
I agree with Guiseppe, I work in the Ponca City plant. times are tough, it is what it is. this is not a new thing. all companies are suffering right now. if you're lucky enough to still have a job, be thankful and stop whining already.
Or unlucky, depending on how you look at it.
You Ponca guys cry a lot. Your lucky to have a job.....
Artisans is correct. Those who are the most experienced, who know all the tricks of the trade, who are the most DEDICATED will soon all be gone. If you make your scrap rate look better by not scrapping what should be scrapped, and make your injury rate look better by intimidation it's all good though.
No surprise to anyone with tenure at SLB.
SLB thinks all the magic is contained within GEMS and any $5 day slave can follow the golden released records to produce product.
Talent, Experience and even dealing with the VODOO that can inhibit manufacturing efforts is a none issue for upper management.
Drill Bit manufacture is a prime example as it takes artisans to accomplish.
Of course we all loved the paint by numbers projects when were kids...Right?
This should come as no surprise to anybody that has worked there for the last 6 years.
