Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

Sugar Land council waves taxes 10 years on new building for 500 job creations in October. Today: 300 jobs slashed in SPC. 800 to go

October: get city council to vote waving paying taxes for 10years on the new building being built (250,000sqft) in exchange for 500 job creations

Today: 300 people laid off in Sugar Land (unverified).

Tax payers (some laid off) will foot the bill.

I work in sugar land, building 110. I have not seen or heard of any layoffs on campus, managers or otherwise.

This site states that taxpayers will pay 2.5 millions to this company

Instead of them paying property tax (3% of 200 million every year?)
