Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Credit card chip readers?

How many stores have the function in place and working? I believe the stores are on the hook for a bad charge if the card has a chip, but the customer swipes the card through the reader instead. Considering how many stores have transient client bases and employees, this would seem to be a huge risk. Did leadership produce you with tools to mitigate the risk?

The Hindu has a Headline “H-1B visa reform Bill introduced in US Senate”. I have not seen this headline in US Media!

“Two US Senators have introduced a bipartisan legislation in the Senate seeking reform of H-1B visa programme and modify wage requirements while also calling for a sense of urgency against the “abuse of the system” over a scheme they claim has gotten away from its original intent."

The bill has been introduced by Senators Chuck Grassley, Chairman of Senate Judiciary Committee, and Dick Durbin, Assistant Democratic Leader. It is cosponsored by Senators Bill Nelson, Richard Blumenthal, and Sherrod Brown.”

Just curious about why SS still has a job... I mean really, going back 40 years...has there been anyone more who promised more and delivered less? I just don't understand what is keeping him in place? It's kind of crazy isn't it? The first meeting I was in he casually bragged about how he was pressuring a vendor to give him a set of Google glasses.....I mean really. This is IT leadership now?

SS spent more than budgeted for on the new POS and the system is already under not supported by the manufacturer. Another win by our wonderful leadership. (Yes, sarcasm)

So the hardware purchase has been done, but Follett isn't yet compliant. Brilliant. All the risk from spending the money. All the risk due to doing things incorrectly. Sounds about right.

Most store should have received and installed the new card readers. I don't think the functionality in WinDSS is ready to go. Yet another build to wait on...
