Kim Mustin, Cheryl Pipia, of BNY, were let go on May 23, 2016, not even there for 2yrs. All fluff, no substance.
I just searched for layoffs since I recently interviewed for a couple of positions at BNY Mellon in Massachusetts. How can companies still be interviewing when they also intend to layoff current employees in a couple of months? The positions that I interviewed for are both contract positions that may become permanent. At least that is what I told.
Have you looked at all the other Banks and Mortgage Companies? Layoffs are slated for all companies in 2016. The stock market is taking a disastrous downward turn. Oil is down under $30 per barrel. Interest Rates are hiking. Bofa expects a bearish market in 2016. China is struggling. Hence, it would be prudent to believe that 2007-2008 is coming again and layoffs are expected. Update your resume. Clean all emails and pictures off your computer. Payoff your debt and by all means reduce your monthly overhead expenses. Plan ahead folks. And, prepare to enter other industries, if necessary, until the dust settles. It may not happen to you personally, but then again, it could be you.
BNYM NY & HK, Singapore shared the laying off plan in Q1 2006 w Sr staffs - It is coming soon - Is your resume updated and ready ?
I know they are laying off people in their Boston office in May.
Yes they will be laying more people off in 2016
Well, their new Furlough the Contractors two days with every holiday smacks of money trouble. If you're a contractor, consider whatever rate you're being pitched when converted to a yearly salary and then knock about 10-15% off that, give or take depending on what your rate is to project your true earning rate there. Especially in fall/winter holiday season, you're looking at nearly three weeks of forced time off in time for the holidays and the official paperwork from the company indicates this is the new status quo for "just a contractor." But layoff usually follow furloughs and I know they're planning to consolidate the Houston office to one floor from two. The talk is of "desk sharing" but you can bet some folks will simply be losing desks altogether.
