Thread regarding Noble Energy Inc. layoffs

Best company in my 10 years in the Oil and Gas industry

I've worked for three different companies in the last 10, and Noble has been hands down the best. They have helped me develop by giving me opportunities, provided for my family, and all though there are areas that need improving there is no such thing as a perfect company. I have great co workers who show up and contribute everyday. In today's world there is always to complain about, but I appreciate Nobles efforts in creating an environment that rewards those that work hard and are able to adapt to the ever changing environment.

If all of those Rosetta people had just been to GAP their company would have been so much better! Just like Noble!

Completely agree with Anonymous 193654. Noble WAS a great company and a great place to work. No longer. They have sunk to the bottom of the barrel. When prices are high anyone and everyone looks like they are good managers. When the tide goes out you get to see who is swimming naked. Noble has been exposed.

You're forgetting something. In your own words Rosetta was incompetent, but Noble went ahead and bought them anyway. That's GAP in action.

totally agree, In my 10 years, Rosetta was the worst to work for and Noble was the best. It really can be much worse. I will take GAP any day as compared to the incompetence of Rosetta

Anonymous 190492... could not agree with you more. Although I might make the turning point a little later than you have. More like 2011-2012 area. There was a time where Noble was a great place to work and a very successful company and highly respected in industry circles. Those days are over... Noble has lost it's swagger. Nobody wants to work for them anymore. People see what is happening there. Fortunately, I have saved my money and I don't need their paycheck that bad. The crap that is going down is not worth it. I will find another job! Please give me my walking papers and I will be soooo grateful. If I don;t get them I will leave soon anyway. I will so pleased not to go to another GAP session!

Anonymous 190389... there is something to be said for your loyalty. However, NOBLE does not provide for your family. YOU... your blood, sweat, tears and toil provide for your family. Noble may be the vehicle that you do this through.. but there are others place to work. To them you are just a number! When they decide they don't want/need you anymore you are GONE!

Well good luck sailor. I'm sure you and someone's mom will find a good company to complain at.

Anonymous190389 , you must have worked at some awful places. I've had 3 employers in 28 years. All oil companies. Until 2009, Noble tied for second best of the three. Since 2009, however, Noble has become a hellhole. I want a severance package, and that desire has been communicated to management. Plans for the next adventure are set, and my plans do not include NRFPT Dave, Smurf Fisher, GAP Cunningham, or anyone of their ilk.

Noble has enormous potential that has been squandered repeatedly. Sorry... but managers who are paid millions and millions of $$ are subject to scrutiny for their performance. They feel it's OK to rank us by performance and let us go if we don't meet their criteria (whatever that is). Therefore we need to comment about their performance! Sorry if you don't like that!
