Not true, there are British and Australian managers and directors that are racists in addition to that said before. The HR know who they are. There have been multiple leads, yet not even a single reprimand, but all concerned were laid off. This is how they dealt with liability.

Agree with the last testament. This layoff gave those managers and directors a perfect, perhaps a single in their lifetimes, chance to get rid of talented folks that otherwise would have competed for their positions. They were really scared that SLB might reevaluate them as managers and directors. It was an extreme, I understand, but for the sake of their skins, they did that. Strangely, everything worked well for them as there has not been a single investigation by HR, EEOC, DEA, and other agencies that would be interested in that.
The selection of the employees to be laid off is up to the managers (those starting from G13/G14 and up to B1). MI-SWACO is one of the most corrupt companies we are aware of. There were multiple incidents of employees giving brides to those managers to stay a year longer. Guy Arrington was well aware of that, nevertheless there are still several clans in Houston including the Brits that rule. This is what their shareholders have to be concern of and not about the difference in pay rates. There are whole departments such as Environmental Solutions that don't produce a bit , yet the managers and directors receive in benefits over $250,000 and are untouchable under any circumstances. So if one tells me here that that it is not straight forward and is driven by the difference in pay rates, then it is all BS and is clear what does what. They need to be in jail for that.
They are firing some of our best people simply because they get paid more than Schlumberger people at a similar grade. Morale is 10 feet underground and the company is being led by a President who is totally anti-people and in way over his ability to manage the company. It is so sad to watch whats going on.
