Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Major reductions across the board in Global Tech and Ops

Appears there was a up to a 20% reduction in headcount in certain target groups. Don't think it was financial but rather a top down edict to meet role ratio metrics. Lots of GAPS in service created. More work on less people. If the work actually declined it would be understandable.

Some groups protected overpaid trainwreck managers and let go people who did the work AND targeted people who work from home....a program they championed in 2008.

Bank did reduce its workers in Tech in India too, Tech teams have been asked to automate thier work so its like chopping the same branch they are sitting on cuz after automation is completed they will chuck them out. SOME Tech depts were reduced or closed too.

The 2 people that i personally know that were laid off today were in different Tech and Ops organizations. Both were told due to "role reduction". They were given until the end of day to pack up their things etc. I know there were at least 15 more in those 2 organizations. Of the 2 that I know one was myWork and both had over 25 years of service.
