He promised you all back in July the layoffs were over and SLB was posed for recovery. Yet here he is going back on his word and laying off thousands (Merry Christmas.) Question is, why is he still CEO? Or is it a requirement that you have to be a liar to be the CEO of SLB?

People should feel sorry for a ceo with a 20 million dollar compensation package.....give me a break
'I can't blame him for being optimistic'...yes you can...he is paid a lot of moolah to ensure that his decisions and garble speak is correct....he was totally wrong and major shareholders should be asking questions.
I was one of the thousands laid off yet I'm not bitter about the CEO's statements from June. SLB held onto all types of assets thinking there was going to be a mid year bottom and recovery after. Now we still are at new lows yet no clue where the bottom is. I can't blame him for being optimistic.
Sugar land manager, I think by putting short terms financial objective ahead of long term strategic ones in technology and development we are losing our differentiating edge to keep stockholders happy. I am not sure what is the long term outlook for slb, I am not proud of working for them any longer.
Sugar land manager, you seriously think so? My god, I can't believe this
We're there more layoffs?? Are there gonna be more if so when??
Do you think your CEO really wants to do this? His stock and stock options have lost millions in value over the past year. It hurts him more than it hurts those laid off. Engineers who lose their jobs just replace them with others. But where do high-level managers go? These are the people who have really worked over the years to make the company strong. They are looking out for everyone, believe me, but it is painful for them too. I am one of those managers and I dread this environment as much as you do.
