Hi, I am recently started a new position with SLB as a mechanical technician. I got a mechanical engineering major. I am just wondering what is the Career path for this position, Is it possible to be a field engineer one day?
What happened to the 401k that was set up in the 80's to Okla City Employees? When company moved all to Houston, we were told we could not take out our money in 401K until we were 65? Now, no one can find my name, my SS, or any information that I ever worked there?
For the first comment, it is not that AskHR has a policy against not responding to emails sent to AskHR@SLB.com from non SLB email accounts. They are never received by anyone at Schlumberger. The server will not accept them, and you will not get a rejection message.
If you are a former employee, please go through the company site to the alumni information and register for "MyASKHR" and you will be able to communicate via email.
Former employees who were on Schlumberger payroll any time since 1996 were assigned a GIN, and that GIN is still yours.

i was declared dissabled Jan 23,2016 dr submiited to insurance then to slb ,bone to bone right knee left 96 percent ,severe right shoulder tears ,Thus layed off Feb 2 nd as a reduction in force ,signed up for insurance and life insurance comes out of pension check from Northern trust ,now hearing i have missed a sign up ?have had no contact with slb lost all computer windows for help , no internet till last week {Harvey},have watched mail closely ,have tryed to talk to hr but say they cant find me on personal info or prior Gin ,was told last year my insurance was set up and would only have to request changes did not have to re up yearly,

Schlumberger's newest save money scheme is to not pay employees for travel time which is illegal. In Cheyenne WY we are getting sent out to Midland TX for two week rotations. They have told us we can't clock in for our travel home although we will be flying on a Schlumberger plane ticket and then picked up at Denver in a Schlumberger vehicle for the commute to our workplace in Cheyenne. No worries, The department of labor is going to love this one....
