This sounds like a typical comment from a D&M or Wire line wanker that knows nothing about MIS for instance the ignorance that you think MIS is only a mud company i'm an 15 year veteran DD worked all over the world and for the last 8 years i have been with MIS for a down hole tools and was the first person globally on a SLB contract after the buy out and let me tell you one thing every single person that was MIS know what its like to be treated as a team member and an asset, they went from being an asset and an individual to being a GIN # at SLB, and that right there is why we got paid more because we were worth something to the company at SLB your are nothing when they decide you are nothing, oh and in case you are wondering yes i was an Operations manager at SLB and 26 years as a rig pig, when you know something come back and talk about how wonderful SLB are and i will give you a few more tips.

MI is not just mud. There are sub segments within MI that are advanced technology that MWD and Wireline would not understand. The worse for us is meeting up with MWD hands that act brilliant but can't even comprehend how to set up a wits feed.

Underpaid and overworked - well, that's not true. Period.

Agree. I worked in MI for a year and it was so easy. They make out that their job is complex. We just followed mix sheets and added barite to mud lol a real morons job to be honest. This coming from an overqualified former MI employee.

Same here too in NGC DM. Underpaid and overworked. However, slb pays for our liquor and food everytime we go finishing or golfing.

Its because we get paid much more than your average SLB person and MI was a much better place to work with motivated employees working in a team and now we have to lower our standards to the SLB level where people are treated like dirt, overworked and underpaid. Thats why many of us are leaving.
