Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

Profit sharing when will it be announced and distributed .

Got laid off this month after 10 plus years .

Got a new job already .

Yes their is life after schlumberger!

I recieved info in the mail about the 401 k plan and how if I take my money out and distribute it to another 401k I will not receive the distribution from this years profit sharing .

I know it's going to be minimal but it's still going to be something .

Does anyone know when that money is distributed and when the announcement will be made ?

Don't put your money in another 401k!!

Put it in your own IRA account at any number of places (Scottstrade requires $500 to open an IRA and has NO fees). There are hundreds more. The point is, get your money out of the crappy 401K system where you have little to no control. Yes, an IRA is also fully tax differed with no penalty if you simply roll it over.
