It is wrong that your choices have boiled down to two; find another job, or buck up and take the abuse. That's it folks. Management has taken any benefit (such as fair pay, work-life balance, health care) away. They grabbed those things. While doing so, they also grabbed the careers of many of your "valued" co-workers. They killed those careers without care or note. They changed structure so there would be fewer career employees, in the future. The lowered the bar to manage stores. I've know many who have been promoted who would have marched out the door before my store was acquired by follett. There is no indication this pattern is ending. That leaves you with one reality; accept it and keep on, or leave. The Soviets erected a wall to keep Berliners from voting with their feet. Follett can't use stop-gap staffing (like our military) to keep you in a job that isn't rewarding in any sense. Leaving may be your best option.

What are the new benefit plans and deductibles? I haven't received anything yet in my department

There is one good thing about all these benefit cuts. My stress level is way down and my work life balance is much better. I no longer care about anything to do with Follett, so I no longer stress about meeting impossible goals. Stupid instructions, no problem. I do what I am told and let them figure out how stupid it is when the consequences hit. They never listened to me anyway.

Sad to say this isn't just Follett. Are you enjoying your free healthcare? Thank your friends that voted for this crap! It's going to get worse in 2017.

Anonymous185997 you must be on psychotropic drugs. MLS and her minions destroyed peoples lives. THAT's what the family gave us. The new leadership got rid of anybody that new the business. Doubled the overhead for senior management while eliminating the associates that did the work and blaming everyone else for their failures.

I did some math. This new plan is going to cost me at least $2,000 - $3,000 more in medical costs next year.

Current leadership is clueless. The family no longer cares about the company and cares even less about you. How many family members are still involved in day to day operations? Zero

Ha. Follett family spam. Hate to break it to you, but employee morale went to hell in a hand basket a long time ago. The constant benefit cuts just ensures it stays there. You get what you pay for and the pay keeps going downhill.

Why not let the newest leadership have a chance. The company still has a soul--just needs to course correct to stay competitive. I'm definitely not saying all leaders should stay. But there are some decent ones that want to get out of the political **itstorm, and start doing real business again; at a debt-free company that may not be making the margins they were 10-15 years ago... but Follett still makes money (and the family still cares about its legacy, so not looking to just let employee morale go to hell in a hand basket). But bottom line, friends, don't let a company--any f'ing company--steal your soul and reduce you to a jaded mess. Be part of the solution. Find the managers out there who get it, and get behind them, or calmly resolve to leave on your own terms with your dignity intact. Love, HR (ha... that job would SUCK but those people need some serious love too)

I actually have a pretty good job with better pay since I left Follett. I can't take you whining buttholes who only deserve what is coming to you. As long as you stay and accept the treatment, you deserve it! Some of you deserve it anyhow, because of your ill gotten positions and the way you treated others.

I don't feel sorry for any of you grimey mfers. Karma has started, and unfortunately many of you won't be taken as seriously elsewhere unless you are transitioning to a company where someone you know is an authority figure.

Have to see this as a warning sign. The next thing they cut it payroll.

Don't worry about cutting other expenditures. A quick cost analysis would save this company millions

A little honesty from this leadership team would go a long way. They are always in spin control.

But wait its reasoning is to stay competitive. Such bs. Also they claim none of us chose the PPO, liars, everyone I talk to says they have the PPO.

Follett has trimmed all benefits over the last two years. Previous leadership fought to maintain quality benefits plans to keep the employees happy. New leadership since there arrival has done nothing but cut, cut, cut benefit plans. It would be interesting to know if the leadership has a different plan than ordinary employees. Perhaps they should eliminate their car allowances, aggressive stock option etc.

Wow...just wow. You were 100% correct. Benefits have definitely changed. Very sad day for Follett associates. It's all about money, no longer about retaining talent. Follett has now officially turned to crap!

  • Da Troof: you will see when you get your packet in the mail. Best plan eliminated and replaced with plans that have rediculous deductables and out of pocket maximums.

This shit is worse than Obama Care.
