ConocoPhillips, which is cutting 500 workers in Canada this year, removed complimentary juice and soda from fridges in Calgary and canceled personal development benefits of as much as C$1,500 ($1,153) a year that some employees used for sports training.

This hurts
So you lost 500 loonies and 1,500 loonies at the same time?
Wow. I know I often feel like I work with a bunch of spoiled children who can't do anything for themselves. I used to consider that just an analogy however apparently there are literally some that are getting juice boxes from their employer. Is that before or after recess and nap time?
No sympathy for that one. People have lost their jobs....get over your soda/juice/fitness rant. Goes to show how selfish & materialistic some people are.
You should have quit at soda and juice. The US lost this as well, and never had the $1500 personal development account and gets 1/2 the VCIP payout that Canadian employees get. Maybe we're finally getting to parity between countries.
