assets, what assets?

At the current price of oil and the current cost to produce which assets are of value to the industry as a whole. Which assets are worth buying or selling in the current environment? Billions of dollars spent to acquire leases on property but the cost to produce exceeds the associated profits. At what point are the "assets" abandoned?
