Bottom line, you are an engineer if you know how to code. The Lead Engineer, Engineering Consultant, lead engineering consultant, senior engineer, etc was just a ton of crap. If you can code, you be on this team and we will rate you internally. Enough of the phoney titles.

Good point Anonymous138016. Manure doesn't spread itself! Rest assured someone who is honest, has integrity, and some level of professionalism will lead the DevOops charge. Oh wait, that leader doesn't exist, I'm sure they will promote RC to Director of Engineering soon since none of those qualities matter to TTS leadership.

I feel that everything will be ok now that I know TI will be hiring more KMG.

Anonymous137941, they (GM's & Managers) will still be there. I just heard that they are hiring KMG's in TI. I have heard Managers will now be called engineering managers. god knows what they know about engineering. its like trying to put lipstick on a pig.

Engineers will be a multi level title. Instead of associate engineer, engineer, sr. Engineer, EC, LEC, there will be a couple of levels spanning the grades today. There will be no pay-cuts or demotions. At least that is what I understood. This will be the same for all of the job families.

Part of "Flattening the organization" Engineers report to an Engineering Manager (who supervises 12 - 15 engineers) and reports directly to a Director / VP I don't know what this does to to current GM's and Managers. One of them won't exist in the future.
