Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

I suddenly wish I had been one of the admins laid off in this last tound

My workload was unmanageable before, I barely had time for lunch. Now, it's unmanageable. Stupid executive team.

BTW - there is some weird discrimination at TARGET with TM's that are non-exempt - why is that at Target?? You can get paid way over 50- 80K depending on where you work. For some crazy reason, anyone tagged with that category was treated different.

I think there are one or two negative men about 35-45 yrs old, living with one or both of their parents and residing in a corner of the basement. They have a shitty job and are not treated well so they enjoy putting out sexist, condescending comments to boost their deflated male ego...just a wild guess....how's that for an arm chair psychologist :-)

101478 -well said. I do not understand the put downs our admins are getting. They are the backbone to making things work. Being non-exempt does not matter. Everyone adds value. I would challenge anyone of us to try and do their jobs - we would likely fail

to the admins..don't lower yourselves to even comment to the snarky, condescending jerks that like to chime in every now and then. They just like to pull punches and get a rise out of people. You are right, you all deserve a work/life balance and having 35 hrs of work already on a WED is absurd. Take a look beyond the Bullseye. There are happier places for you. Sometimes this site is just for venting and you have every right but try to do something about it. Make time to search for other work OR make a real stand and let your new leader(s) know that the new world at Target means giving up a lot of the old help that the team was given prior to April 30th. Since when is work life balance good for exempts not not ok for non exempts. If continuously working overtime on an hourly salary is your idea of work, then you're a bad leader and should think about other roles. Not every admin sat on their laurels eating bon bons. Some of us already had a heavy workload even before this nightmare began.

I just got offered two roles one supporting multiple execs paying 60,000 and one supporting one exec making 55,000 guess which one I chose? The obvious single exec for 5000 less because they are going to have to pay me a lot more for the amount of work required to support multiple people. Seriously life is better outside of Target.

Remember, there are plenty of jobs out there right now if you start looking. The job market is in a good place right now. You will find that other big companies might ask you to support more than one executive BUT you will not be asked to do all of that work for the teams (KMG and below). I am looking at a role that supports 3 execs but only the most senior exec is the main priority (I asked that in the interview). I am sure it will be a lot of work but the compensation is several thousand more than my previous role at Tgt.

Stupid smartphone. I meant to say... My workload was unmanageable before, and now it is REALLY unmanageable. Suddenly hate being an admin at Target and will be leaving the second I find something else. The amount of work is crazy and cannot be done unless Target wants to switch me to exempt or, approve and pay me overtime.
