Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Can an MS confirm that you received information today that you will be setting up items? And what areas received this information?

The problem is that leadership doesn't really know what the MSs or other NEs do, so they have no appreciation. 99.9% of the leadership has never had a job like the MS role or any idea how NEs at Target are really treated. I left Target because I couldn't break out of a NE role...if I was still there and survived the layoff, I'd be out of there like a shot.

Yep they did. Most all ms's are now called item specialists and they will own item set ups and maintenance. Apparently TI hasn't done a good job completing the data. Can't blame them, though. The actual problem is that Vendors didn't receive the best IMN training when it rolled out and the system is not intuitive. And because there are so many items to set up, TI isn't checking the data for relevance and accuracy. They just keep hitting enter to go through the screens and quickly get the item completed. So instead of solving that problem, they're gonna make yet another talented group pay the price. It's essentially a demotion. It will backfire. These MS's wear so many hats. Buyers wouldn't get their bonuses if it wasn't for the MS. Their raises are crap and opportunity to become exempt is almost nonexistent unless they want to screw up their lives even more by becoming a BA. No one in their right minds, other than a consulting firm, would call this best for the company. Leadership should've stood up to this and expressed how bad of a move this was. You cannot expect them to be robots all day now after you relied on them for so many years to be responsible for all aspects of launch. MS's are passionate and proud about what they do and they get paid the least in merch. Morale will be shot. Good luck getting your bonuses now, buyers.
